FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The agent for wide receiver Joey Galloway confirmed that the New England Patriots have reached a one-year deal with the former Buc.
Galloway's agent, Shawn Trell, confirmed the news to the Boston Globe, which was first reported by Tampa sports radio station WDAE, 620 AM.
Galloway, 37, who was released by Tampa Bay on Feb. 25, visited with the Patriots on March 4 and also had visits with the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Galloway spent the past five seasons in Tampa Bay. He had three straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2005 to 2007, but last year was limited to nine games after he broke two bones in his foot.
Stallworth Hits, Kills Pedestrian
MIAMI BEACH - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley on Saturday on a busy causeway linking Miami and Miami Beach.
Stallworth was headed toward the beach when he hit a 49-year-old man around 7 a.m.
The unidentified pedestrian was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
