ORLANDO - Authorities say they have arrested a 25-year-old who has been impersonating an Orange County sheriff's deputy.
John Wesley Mobley faces three counts of falsely impersonating a police officer.
According to news release, Mobley told an officer on Feb. 26 that he was a deputy sheriff assigned to investigate narcotics. He was wearing clothes that are similar to the Orange County Sheriff's Office uniform.
When the officer asked to see Mobley's identification, he refused and sped away in a vehicle that displayed a state-issued "sheriff" license plate.
Investigators believe Mobley has also impersonated an officer in other jurisdictions.
