Detectives today are searching a wooded area near U.S. 301 where a man looking through a trash dump on Saturday found human bones.

TAMPA - Detectives today are searching a wooded area near U.S. 301 where a man looking through a trash dump on Saturday found human bones.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the man found the bones Saturday afternoon off Surona Road, east of U.S. 301. Detectives determined it was a human skeleton.

The medical examiner will take custody of the bones today and try to identify the remains and determine a cause of death.
