Marve Still Looking Over Transfer Options

Published: March 15, 2009

TAMPA - Former Miami quarterback Robert Marve has narrowed his list of prospective schools to six, including the University of South Florida, but that list could grow, Plant High coach Robert Weiner said.

Besides USF, the former Plant star is also considering Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue, Texas Tech and UCLA.

"That is the final six right now, but there is time for others to still jump in the game," Weiner said.

Per NCAA transfer rules, Marve must sit out the 2009 season, but would be eligible to play two seasons in 2010 and 2011.

At Miami last season, Marve started 11 games, throwing for 1,293 yards with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions

In December, Marve announced he was transferring from Miami, but the school initially prohibited him from transferring to any ACC, SEC or state school. UM later allowed Marve to transfer to any SEC school, other than Florida, Tennessee or LSU, and also added USF and UCF as possible destinations.
