A portion of Jamison Road shut down because of a brush fire in Polk County has now reopened.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office had shut down the road from Highway 37 South to Highway 640 to keep motorists from driving through smoke.
Polk County Fire Rescue units have contained the fire, which grew to 15-20 acres. The fire was in an empty field and endangered no structures, but smoke had drifted across Jamison Road.
