TAMPA - A lawyer who was stunned with a Taser after becoming upset at a Tampa Code Enforcement Board meeting now faces a misdemeanor charge.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office today charged Carl Roland Hayes, 53, of 5115 Branch Ave. N., with resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.
Assistant State Attorney Pam Bondi said she couldn't comment on pending cases other than to confirm the charge was filed.
Police said Hayes became irate and verbally abusive when addressing the board in November and refused to calm down. They said he was arrested after slapping an officer's face after being escorted from the meeting.
Hayes could not immediately be reached for comment.
