Victim In Fatal Van Crash Identified

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a fiery crash Friday as Joseph Thomas Fells, 48, of Tampa.
Fells was driving a 1997 Plymouth van west on State Road 60 near Pinewood Avenue about 9:20 p.m. Friday when he veered off the road and struck a utility pole, the highway patrol said.
The van flipped, landed on its roof and burst into flames. Fells could not get out of the van and died at the scene, troopers say. The fire damaged other vehicles in an adjacent parking lot.
The crash is still under investigation.
