The pastor of a local Lutheran church has been charged with driving while intoxicated, records show.
Jon Noble Keiser, 60, was released from Orient Road Jail today after posting $500 bail.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested him on the misdemeanor charge about 2:30 this morning, records show.
Keiser is the senior pastor at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 8401 W. Hillsborough Ave., according to jail and public records.
A deputy pulled over Keiser driving a 2005 Toyota westbound on Linebaugh Avenue near Countryway Boulevard about 2:10 a.m. after radar clocked his speed at 58 miles per hour, 13 miles over the speed limit, an affidavit says.
The deputy noticed an odor of alcoholic beverages on Keiser's breath, the affidavit states.
In addition, Keiser's eyes were red and watery, and he was unsteady on his feet, the sheriff's office said.
Keiser refused to submit to a chemical breath test, the sheriff's office said.
The church declined to comment.
