Lakeland Police Seek Help To Find Attempted-Murder Suspect

Lakeland police are asking for the public's help in finding a man charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting on Monday.

Sgt. Terri Smith said today that an arrest warrant has been issued for Cornelius Patrick Gibson, 26, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Gibson is accused of shooting Alfred Lawrence Dodd, 29, about 12:05 a.m. at 1734 Crystal Grove Drive, Lakeland. Dodd was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Smith said his condition is unavailable.

Gibson's last known address is 1667 Crystal Park South, Lakeland. Police said he stands about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 185 pounds.
