Published: March 18, 2009

Belinda Carlisle is the first celebrity casualty on "Dancing With the Stars."

The 50-year-old singer and her professional partner, Jonathan Roberts, were eliminated from the ABC show Tuesday.

The pair went toe to toe - literally - with fellow low-scoring couple Steve Wozniak and his partner, Karina Smirnoff, in the show's first dance-off. Each duo repeated their Monday night dance for new scores from the judges. Each earned 17 points out of 30, but viewer votes kept Wozniak on the show for another week.

Anoop Wows 'Idol' Judges

The "American Idol" judges are willing to give Anoop Desai one more chance to keep them satisfied.

The 21-year-old impressed critic Simon Cowell and the rest of the panel with his soulful cover of "Always on My Mind" during Tuesday night's Grand Ole Opry-themed performance show.

Cowell - who criticized Desai's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" last week - changed his tune, saying Desai "managed to go from zero to hero" thanks to stellar vocals and choice of the song. "Always on My Mind" has been recorded by Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley and others.

A person close to the family of Natasha Richardson says the actress has arrived in New York.

Richardson, the wife of Liam Neeson, was critically injured Monday during a skiing accident at Montreal's famed Mont Tremblant resort. She was treated at Sacre-Coeur hospital Monday night and left for the United States on Tuesday.

Nelson Concert To Be Rescheduled

Due to illness, singer Willie Nelson's Tuesday concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater has been postponed.

A news release didn't specify Nelson's illness but did say the music legend "regrets any inconvenience to his fans."

The show will be rescheduled for October. No specific date has been set and previously purchased tickets will be honored for the October concert, according to a news release.

More information will be posted at rutheckerdhall.com.
