St. Pete Police: Beauty Store Manager Sold Fake DVDs, CDs

The manager of a beauty supply store was arrested Tuesday evening on charges he was selling counterfeit DVDs and CDs, St. Petersburg police said.

Sami Suleiman, 38, was charged with counterfeiting private labels. The St. Petersburg man was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $5,000 bail.

According to St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa, an employee at Discount Beauty Supply, 1400 49th St. S., complained that Suleiman was making copies of DVDs and CDs and selling them at the store as if they were genuine.

Patrol officers found more than 400 copied DVDs and more than 4,000 copied CDs at the store, Kajtsa said.
