Simpson's Appearance At Strawberry Fest Makes Tabloids

PLANT CITY - As you stand in the supermarket checkout line this week, you may notice photos of Jessica Simpson in a familiar setting.

At least three tabloids are carrying shots from Simpson's March 8 Florida Strawberry Festival performance. She's been hot entertainment news since she appeared at the event wearing skimpy Daisy Duke short-shorts, putting to rest rumors of a weight gain.

Photos of her at the festival are on the covers of In Touch Weekly and Star, and Us Weekly has a shot of her in its "Hot Picks!" photo spread.

In Touch Weekly has six photos inside of the 28-year-old blond diva, including one from the festival with the caption: "Now, Nothing To Hide, March 2009, Jessica recently showcased her curves wearing her staple Daisy Dukes. 'Honestly, I am right where I am supposed to be,' Jessica says. 'I am very happy.' "

A Strawberry Festival spokeswoman said the festival didn't provide the photos that have been appearing in the tabloids. She said some people in the audience had cameras with telephoto lenses and suspects they took the shots. Credentialed photographers had to sign waivers that they wouldn't sell their photos to the tabloids, she said.

Simpson, a pop singer turned country, was the talk of celebrity gossip sites after her festival performance. She started flaunting short-shorts after she appeared as Daisy in the 2005 film "The Dukes of Hazzard."
