Weightlifting: WC's Joyer Resets County Records

WESLEY CHAPEL - Wesley Chapel High's Kamran Joyer increased his total poundage by 30 pounds as he reset Pasco County, school and family records Wednesday during the East Side Tournament Meet at Sunlake High.

Joyner had a 440-pound bench press and a 315-pound clean and jerk for a 755-pound total. He upped his best weight in both categories by 15 pounds.

A week ago, the senior had a 425-pound bench press and a 300-pound clean and jerk for a 725-pound total. That night, he broke a family record held by younger brother Hunter, of 720 pounds.

Kamran Joyer has signed a scholarship to play football for the University of South Florida.
