LUTZ - A New Port Richey man has been charged in the beating death of his ex-wife's live-in boyfriend.
Sanford Gloster, 51, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder Thursday night after an afternoon quarrel turned into an all-out brawl between Gloster and David Grove, 59.
Deputies say Gloster fought with Grove at Grove's house at 3425 Laurel Dale Drive, which is east of North Dale Mabry Highway and south of Van Dyke Road.
Gloster's ex-wife lives at Grove's house and witnessed the attack, deputies said. She's also Grove's ex-wife, although she had recently moved back in with him.
Deputies were called to break up the fight, which spilled onto the porch, but when they arrived they found Grove's beaten body. He was kicked and stomped to death, deputies said.
The suspect had left the scene.
Detectives found Gloster at his home at 4651 Manor Drive, New Port Richey, in need of medical attention from the fight, deputies said.
They took him HCA Community Hospital in Pasco for treatment. Pasco deputies arrested Gloster at the hospital. At some point he'll be taken to the Pasco County Jail and then transferred to Hillsborough County.
