TAMPA - An August trial date was scheduled today for Stephanie Ragusa, a former Hillsborough County middle school teacher accused of having sex with two students.
Hillsborough Circuit Court Judge Wayne S. Timmerman set Aug. 10 for Ragusa at the request of prosecutors and Ragusa's attorney Robert Herce.
Timmerman also scheduled a pretrial conference for Aug. 4.
Ragusa, 29, a former Davidsen Middle School math teacher, was arrested in March and accused of having sex at least three times with a 14-year-old. She was arrested in April and charged with having sex with another teenager as many as 20 times. She has pleaded not guilty.
Ragusa sent letters to court and jail officials this month complaining about how she is being treated in jail awaiting trial. She is being held without bail.
