Pedestrian Killed Crossing I-4, Troopers Say

State police are investigating the death of a man killed Wednesday night when he was hit by a truck on Interstate 4 in Lakeland.
Florida Highway Patrol says Stuart Eichhorn, 39, of Girdletree, Md., was driving west at about 10:45 p.m. when his vehicle struck the man near an overpass for the Polk Parkway.
The man ended up under the parkway on the shoulder, where he died.
No charges were filed against Eichhorn, although an investigation is continuing. The Highway Patrol did not identify the man killed or say why he was on the highway.
