Actor Is Recuperating After A Mild Stroke

A spokesman for Stacy Keach says actor is recovering after having a mild stroke.

Publicist Dick Guttman said Wednesday the 67-year-old actor "experienced a very mild stroke with no impairment whatsoever of his motor or speech abilities. He remains today in a Los Angeles hospital for observation and routine precautionary procedures."

No further details were provided.

Keach had been starring as Richard Nixon in the Center Theater Group's production of "Frost/Nixon" at the Ahmanson Theatre. In February, he appeared in the role in Tampa.

In a statement, Guttman said "the producers of 'Frost/Nixon' look forward to his speedy recovery and to his return to the show as soon as he is able."

Singer Is Looking For Redemption

Alexis Grace says her elimination from "American Idol" during the show's country music week seems like a betrayal of her Southern roots.

Grace, who received the lowest number of viewer votes after her performance of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," told a teleconference Thursday that she feels like she let down her state of Tennessee.

But the 21-year-old single mother from Memphis says she's going to try to redeem herself as she pursues her dream of a singing career.

Contestant Charged In Cat Fight

A "Project Runway" finalist is accused of using her cat as a weapon during a spat with her ex-fiance.

Kenley Collins told the New York Post that the Brooklyn police report exaggerated the incident. She calls it "a miscommunication."

According to the Post and Daily News, Zak Penley told authorities Collins woke him Tuesday by tossing the cat in his face. He said the cat-apault was followed by a laptop toss. Three apples and some water also made it into the mix.

Penley called 911; Collins was charged with assault.

Former Newsman Battling Cancer

Don Hewitt, the legendary mastermind of CBS News' "60 Minutes," is battling pancreatic cancer.

"60 Minutes" spokesman Kevin Tedesco says the 86-year-old Hewitt has been diagnosed with a small, contained tumor. Doctors will evaluate the cancer to determine a course of treatment.
