VALMALENCO, Italy - Michal Novotny of the Czech Republic and Maelle Ricker of Canada won snowboardcross events Friday.
Novotny earned his first World Cup victory in three years, edging runner-up Nick Baumgartner of the United States and David Speiser of Germany.
Novotny moved to 12th in the overall World Cup standings with 3,150 points, but remains well behind leader Markus Schairer of Austria who has 5,450.
Ricker finished ahead of fellow teammate Dominique Maltais for her 11th career World Cup win, with Zoe Gillings of Britain in third.
Ricker's moved up to fourth in the overall standings with 5,100 points, 1,430 behind leader Doris Guenther of Austria.
