Project Concerns Business Owners
PALMA CEIA - Some business owners worry that a plan to replace a water pipeline along MacDill Avenue might deter shoppers.
With the economic climate tough and small businesses struggling, the Palma Ceia Business and Design District hosted the city's Utility Capital Improvement Projects staff at its recent meeting.
Although still in the exploratory and design phases of the pipeline project, engineer Niel Postlethwait said city staffers hope to present a budget proposal to the Tampa City Council by October. A rough estimate has construction beginning that month and ending in July 2010.
The work on MacDill will run from Platt Street south to San Carlos Street. Additionally, some neighborhood streets will be influenced by the pipeline installation.

New Coffee Shop Begins Perking
PLANT CITY - Espress Yourself Coffee 101 recently closed, but that doesn't spell an end to caffeine fixes downtown.
The Daily Grind & News opens today in the same location, 101 E. J. Arden Mays Blvd.

The cafe's interior is undergoing a makeover, and a new menu is planned with handy grab-and-go items and an assortment of pastries delivered fresh daily.
