Existing home sales rose 23 percent in the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater metro area in February, compared with the year-ago number, as bargain hunters snatched up distressed properties and continued to keep home prices lower.
The median sales price fell 27 percent to $131,400.
Sales of existing homes were up 20 percent statewide and 5.1 percent nationally.
