For a change, it was rain, not pollen, falling from the sky in the Tampa Bay area Monday. The National Weather Service expected some places to get one-quarter to one-half inch. Even for places that got only one-tenth of an inch, it was the first measurable rain for more than three weeks. It also was the last likely shot at rain for at least the rest of the workweek because dry air will shuffle over the region starting today. The next time forecasts mention possible rain is the weekend.
