Tampa's Tyler Heinrichs placed first in two races at the United States of America Cycling Federation qualifier in Desoto, Texas, this past weekend.

With the win, Heinrichs, 13, qualified for the 2009 BMX World Championships in July in Adelaide, Australia.

He competed for Team USA at the 2008 worlds in China, and is hopeful of competing for the U.S. in the 2012 Olympics in London.

Last year, Heinrichs finished seventh in the USAC event out of 142 riders in his class.
