BRADENTON - A teen girl was robbed and attacked Monday afternoon by two boys who appeared to be recreating light saber duels from the "Star Wars" movies, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
The girl, whose name was not released by deputies, was returning to her Bradenton home about 4:15 p.m. Monday after taking a walk and realized she had lost her cell phone.
The girl told deputies she walked back to the location where she thought she dropped it and saw two boys holding her cell phone. The teen told deputies that the two boys looked like they were acting out scenes from "Star Wars" because they were both wearing ski goggles, latex gloves and holding plastic or rubber baseball bats.
The girl asked for her phone, but one of the boys refused to return it, deputies say. When the girl reached out for it, she struggled with the boy while the other one approached her from behind and cut her with a razor, deputies say.
The girl punched the boy who cut her but the person who was holding her phone struck her in the stomach with the baseball bat, the sheriff's office said. The boy then threw the phone into the woods and ran away.
The girl suffered minor injuries. The boys are described as white, 12 to 14 years old who were wearing white T-shirts, black basketball shorts, ski goggles and latex gloves
