A high-scoring command performance couldn't keep Denise Richards on "Dancing With the Stars."
The 38-year-old actress was eliminated from the hit ABC show Tuesday.
Richards said after Monday's performance that she "would be shocked" not to be in the dance-off with her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, in a last chance to improve her judges' scores and remain in the competition.
Despite what the judges said was an improved samba, the couple failed to dominate against fellow low-scoring couple, reality star Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin.
Lauer Has Run-In With Deer
Matt Lauer is recovering from surgery to repair the shoulder he separated when he fell off his bike while avoiding a deer that jumped in his path.
"Today" show news anchor Ann Curry says the operation went "very well," but Lauer is probably in "a lot of pain."
Lauer's fill-in, Lester Holt, said on Tuesday's show that Lauer hopes to be back later this week. Holt held up a headline in the New York Daily News that read: "Matt Goes Splat."
Lauer was riding his bike on Long Island last weekend when a deer jumped in his path. The 51-year-old "Today" show host flew over the handlebars. NBC says Lauer was wearing a helmet.
Hathaway Not In Kansas Anymore
Anne Hathaway is heading somewhere over the rainbow.
The Oscar-nominated actress is set to portray Judy Garland in both film and stage adaptations of Gerald Clarke's 2000 biography. It's titled "Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland." The announcement was made Monday by Weinstein Co. boss Harvey Weinstein.
The 26-year-old actress showed off her song-and-dance skills at last month's Academy Awards, where she sang with host Hugh Jackman.
Hathaway was nominated for an Oscar for her lead role in last year's "Rachel Getting Married."
Garland is perhaps best known for starring in 1939's "The Wizard of Oz" and singing its Oscar-winning ballad "Over the Rainbow." Other career highlights included an Oscar-nominated turn in the 1954 musical remake of "A Star is Born." She died in 1969 at age 47.
