Library Touts 'Twilight' Series
DADE CITY - "Twilight" fans are invited to Hugh Embry Branch Library today for a free celebration of the Stephenie Meyer book series and the film it inspired.
Starting at 3:45 p.m. today, Hugh Embry will host a "Twilight" theme event for teens at the library, 14215 Fourth St.
"It's great that the kids are getting excited about 'Twilight,'
" said Angelo Liranzo, library branch manager. "It encourages them to read, and if they enjoy 'Twilight,' it encourages them to look at other books that are similar."
At the "Twilight" celebration, teens will have the opportunity to win the four-book "Twilight" series, a copy of the film adaption on DVD and a "Twilight" poster.
"Everybody will put their names in a hat, and we will draw a winner for each prize," Liranzo said.
Also featured will be a showing of the film based on the book, whose popularity is encouraging to Liranzo.
"The popularity of 'Twilight' lets us know kids are reading," he said.
Free popcorn will be served. For information, call the library at (352) 567-3576.
