ORLANDO - University of Central Florida officials say a fraternity with members accused of sexual misconduct during a trip to Ohio last year has been suspended for two years.
On Tuesday, UCF administration formalized a recommendation made last week by a panel of students and faculty. The Beta Theta Pi fraternity is now forbidden to gather on campus or participate as an organization in university-sponsored events.
The panel spent two days looking into possible violations of student-conduct rules during a visit by about 70 fraternity members to Beta Theta Pi headquarters in Oxford, Ohio, in November.
