TAMPA - An odd smell is keeping students out of the Gorrie Elementary School library this morning, officials said.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the school at 705 W. De Leon St. at about 7 a.m. after school personnel reported smelling smoke.
Firefighters conducted an extensive search and used thermal-imaging cameras on the building but found no fire, Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said. They also were not able to identify the source of the smell.
As a precaution, the library is closed to students this morning. A school electrician was summoned to investigate further, Wade said.
