Tampa Prep, Newsome Top All-County Girls Team

ALL HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY GIRLS SOCCER TEAM

First Team

GK: Rachel Beninati, Wharton, So. – Had 114 saves this season, despite missing a month with a broken collarbone. A young Wildcat defense struggled at times, but Beninati is a keeper to watch.

D: Lauren Knocke, Tampa Prep, So. – A strong leader on a defense that was again young but came up big with an injured and ever-changing offense.

D: Taylor Richardson, Berkeley Prep, So. – Had 27 goals and 6 assists as Berkeley Prep went 19-3-2 on the season and was undefeated at home at 12-0-2.

D: Megan Fate, Plant, Sr. – Led a Panthers defense that allowed only eight goals this season and lost one match in the regular season.

D: Morgan Sammons, Newsome, Sr. – Was a part of a defense that allowed 12 goals all season and advanced to the regional finals. Also added three goals and nine assists.

M: Taylor Richardson, Tampa Prep, Sr. – The team leader for Tampa Prep, which reached the 2A state final four, had 16 goals and 23 assists on the season.

M: Ana Cate, Newsome, Sr. – Gave opposing defenses fits with her aggressive play. Had 15 goals, 15 assists while taking 134 shots.

M: Megan Wall, Tampa Prep, Sr. – A four year starter for the Terrapins. Led the team with 25 assists while scoring one goal.

M: Ashley Evers, Newsome, Sr. – Had 13 goals and 22 assists for the Wolves this season.

F: Colby Maffei, Tampa Prep, Fr. – Led the Terrapins in scoring with 30 goals despite missing some time with an abdominal strain.

F: Brittany Cox, East Bay, Jr. – Had 26 goals and 10 assists for the Indians including three hat tricks and twice scoring four goals in a match.

F: Karina Guetsche, Newsome, So. – Led the Wolves in scoring with 22 goals while changing positions as needed for her team.
