Orlando - A central Florida mother has been arrested months after police say her infant daughter died of malnutrition.
Orlando Police say Brianna Morgas-Gress was found dead in her bed in November. Her mother told police that Brianna, a twin, had a medical problem that prevented her from eating properly. After investigating, authorities said that was not true. The medical examiner's office ruled the death of the four-month old baby a homicide.
Her mother, Lauren Gress, was arrested Thursday and faces manslaughter and child-neglect charges. Her other children were placed with a relative. Gress was being held at the Orange County Jail on $12,000 bail.
