A 2-year-old Seminole boy drowned today, Pinellas County deputies say.
Mason Roisum of 8662 118th St. N. was found in a pool at his home. He was taken to Largo Medical Center, and he was pronounced dead at 5:46 p.m.
Deputies came to the boy's home at 4:51 p.m. after his father pulled him from the backyard pool, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office news release states.
The boy's father, 53-year-old Paul Roisum, had been home alone with his two children when the incident occurred, deputies say. Paul Roisum was outside with Mason when a younger child awoke inside the home. When Paul Roisum returned outside, he found Mason floating in the pool.
The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine an official manner and cause of the boy's death.
