The Big East's hopes of breaking its own record and becoming the first conference with all the teams in a Final Four ended with Syracuse's loss to Oklahoma in the South Region semifinals on Friday night.
That disappointment aside, the Big East is still the dominant storyline in this weekend's Elite 8.
Louisville joined Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Villanova in the Elite 8 by routing Arizona by 39 points.
The Big 12 has two Elite 8 teams, as Oklahoma beat Syracuse to join Thursday winner Missouri.
Michigan State will represent the Big Ten after closing with a 12-2 run to beat defending national champion Kansas.
North Carolina, representing the ACC, punched the final Elite 8 ticket, routing Gonzaga to ensure all four No. 1 seeds remained alive.
In addition to the four No. 1 seeds, there are two No. 2 seeds (Oklahoma, Michigan State) and two No. 3 seeds (Missouri, Villanova) in the title hunt.
