I am an avid football fan. My 11-year-old son loves football and plays in a local flag league. I am shocked by the public statements made by the Bucs new head coach.
In a nutshell, I don't want my son to approach sports with an "angry" attitude. Put "angry" and "tough" in the same sentence, and there is no room for character and integrity.
I don't want my son to play "angry." I want him to use his physical skills to the best of his potential and be self disciplined enough to outsmart the other players with his mental ability while working together with his team. "Angry" shouldn't be a part of it.
I am sad to think that I may no longer be a fan of our home team, and I am sorely disappointed in the direction this new tone seems to be taking them. It is no example for our children to follow.
