TOWN 'N COUNTRY - Leto High students donned colorful clothing, cooked exotic meals and displayed artifacts from countries around the globe for the school's annual International Festival.
More than 500 students participated in the event. Teams of students spent a month studying assigned countries and then featured the countries at the fair through visual and musical presentations. About 150 countries were represented.
"It's a great way to get the students interested in world cultures," said Jeffrey Hagenmeier, head of Leto's social studies department. Some of the students had never heard of their assigned countries, he said. "It really exposes them to new experiences."
