TAMPA - Operation Spring Cleaning, a two-day law-enforcement roundup of known felons and other criminals, ended today with a total of 122 arrests, police said.
Tampa police and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office swept through neighborhoods in North Tampa and the University Community area since Friday, serving more than 150 warrants.
The people sought included drug offenders, robbery suspects, parents behind on child support and traffic offenders who skipped court dates.
Tampa police Capt. John Newman said Friday that the operation was an extension of one launched before the holiday season "to try and create a momentum shift in crime in this community."
