Officials have opened all roads in Pasco County closed this morning by smoke from a 300-acre brush fire.
Smoke from the smoldering fire forced the sheriff's office to close Ehren Cutoff from State Road 52 to U.S. 41.
Also, Parkway Boulevard was closed from Pineview Elementary School to Ehren Cutoff.
The smoke did not affect the school, and parents had an alternate route to the school, Principal Cortney Gantt said. Outdoor recess has been canceled, and outside air circulation has been switched off; none of the smoke is being circulated through the school.
The fire is east of U.S. 41 and south of State Road 52.
Light wind, which will help firefighting efforts, kept smoke in the area.
The fire started Saturday, but the state Division of Forestry has not determined a cause. The wildfire is burning in an area of dried swamp and is about 60 percent contained.
Crews will be at the site today to cut more fire lines.
No homes are threatened.
