Authorities are looking for a 31-year-old man they say struck his estranged wife with a pistol, then pushed her out of a moving vehicle Monday afternoon in Pasco County.
Patrick Zerance Jr. had threatened to kill his wife, Julie Zerance, earlier Monday before pistol-whipping her and pushing her out of a Ford sport utility vehicle near the Flying J truck stop in San Antonio, Pasco County sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said in a written statement.
Julie Zerance had injuries that were not life-threatening, Doll said. She was taken by medical helicopter to a local hospital.
Patrick Zerance continued driving and fled from the Florida Highway Patrol after troopers spotted him and tried to pull him over, Doll said. Zerance's whereabouts are unknown. He was staying at his father's home at September Drive in Lutz, Doll said.
Authorities consider him armed and dangerous. Anyone who has seen Zerance or the white 2001 Ford Explorer he was driving with Florida tag R878QF are asked to call a local law enforcement agency immediately.
