Sickles senior and North Carolina-bound power forward John Henson has been named a Parade magazine first-team all-American. The 6-foot-10 center, rated the No. 3 prospect in the country by ESPN, averaged 17.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and 6.1 blocks per game this past season and led Sickles to the Class 6A region semifinals.
Henson will play in Wednesday's McDonald's All-American game in Miami.
The prep star was also selected to the USA Junior National Select Team and will compete against some of the top international players at the Nike Hoops Summit in Oregon this summer. In two weeks, he will travel to New York City to play in the Jordan All-American Classic at Madison Square Garden.
