A man accused of striking his wife with a pistol and pushing her out of a moving vehicle turned himself in to the authorities today, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.
Patrick Zerance Jr., 31, of 16214 September Drive, Lutz, was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated battery and kidnapping, sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll said in a written statement.
Zerance turned himself in this afternoon to detectives in Dade City.
Deputies say Zerance had threatened to kill his wife, Julie Zerance, on Monday before pistol-whipping her and pushing her out of a Ford sport utility vehicle near the Flying J truck stop in San Antonio.
Julie Zerance had injuries that were not life-threatening, Doll said. She was taken by medical helicopter to a local hospital.
Patrick Zerance continued driving and fled from the Florida Highway Patrol after troopers spotted him and tried to pull him over, Doll said.
