HUDSON - A get-together turned violent early Sunday morning when a man hit another man in the face several times with a golf club, then stabbed him multiple times in the upper body, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report said.
According to the report, Derick D. Schexnayder's mother, not named in the report, invited Curtis Andrew Osborne, 49, to Schexnayder's home at 8528 Bolton Ave., Hudson, early Sunday, but Schexnayder told Osborne to leave around 1 a.m.
When Osborne and Schexnayder's mother walked outside, Schexnayder followed with a golf club, which he used to strike Osborne several times in the face "causing great bodily harm," the report said.
Schexnayder tried to get back inside his home, but Osborne followed and the men began arguing in front of the residence, the report said. That's when Schexnayder pulled a knife and stabbed Osborne "numerous" times in the upper body, causing puncture wounds and lacerations, the report said.
Osborne's stab injuries were not life-threatening, sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said. His condition was unavailable today.
In April 2008, Schexnayder was released from Liberty Work Camp, about an hour west of Tallahassee, after serving about seven months of a one-year sentence on grand theft charges, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.
Charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Schexnayder was being held in the Land O' Lakes Jail on Tuesday with bail set at $20,000.
