Brandon Man Charged With Operating Marijuana Grow House

Investigators found a marijuana grow house in Brandon with 38 marijuana plants inside, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested Jesse Lynn Turpen, 51, who lives in the home at 1804 Derbywood Drive.
During the week of Feb. 23, investigators received a tip that Turpen had a grow house. On Monday afternoon, investigators came to Turpen's home.
Investigators smelled marijuana coming from Turpen's garage, an arrest report states.
Investigators got a search warrant for the home.
They found 38 marijuana plants, lighting systems, OxyContin pills, 11 baggies of marijuana and two baggies of cocaine, according to an arrest report.
Turpen's charges include cultivation of marijuana and possession of a house for the manufacture of marijuana.
He remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
