Fire At North Tampa Park Brings Arson Arrest

TAMPA - A man intentionally set a fire at Copeland Park in North Tampa on March 20, investigators said.
Authorities arrested Charles E. Roberts, 51, of no known address, and charged him with second-degree arson today.
Roberts started a fire in a trash can on a wooden deck at the park about 6:20 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue said. The fire spread to the deck and surrounding underbrush. It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.
No injuries were reported and no motive for the fire was given.
