BROOKSVILLE - A motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of DUI Monday after he lost control of his bike.

An officer patrolling the area of Hale Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard said he saw Glenn Jamrog, 43, lay down his motorcycle at the intersection. When the officer approached Jamrog, he reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol and subsequently arrested Jamrog.

The suspect blew a blood alcohol level of .227, according to a report. Florida law presumes intoxication at .08.

Intent To Get High Stopped By Deputy

BROOKSVILLE - Two people parked on a dead end street early Monday morning with the intention of getting high.

Their plans were interrupted, though, when a deputy was sent to the 1600 block of Apennine Drive to locate a suspicious vehicle. The deputy found the pickup idling with its lights on and the two occupants acting "very nervous."

The driver, Rachel Sessions, 27, was questioned and a search of the pickup turned up prescription drugs and a metal pipe for smoking drugs, according to an affidavit. She was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Later, at the jail, a corrections officer found another prescription pill and Sessions was further charged with possession of a drug without a prescription and introducing contraband into the jail.

The pickup's passenger told the deputy that Sessions brought him out to Apennine "to get high," according to a report.
