Police say Leon Brooks stole more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes in April and sold them on the streets of Clearwater.
Officers believe transient Leon Brooks, 48, burglarized six convenience stores by smashing their windows and taking cartons of cigarettes, said Clearwater Public Safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts.
Brooks faces six counts of burglary and two counts of dealing in stolen property.
Police say the following burglaries were committed by Brooks:
April 14, 2:41 a.m.: Munchees Food Store 1808 Sunset Point Rd., $1,200 worth of cigarettes.
April 16, 1:41 a.m.: Exxon, 1285 Cleveland St., $800 worth of cigarettes
April 17, 5:25 a.m. Walgreen's, 814 Cleveland St., $1,650 worth of cigarettes
April 18, 4:36 a.m.: Walgreen's, 1880 N. Belcher Rd., $440 worth cigarettes
April 22, 2:42 a.m., Road Runner, 1103 Court St., $500 worth of cigarettes
April 28, 2:36 a.m., Dodge Store, 560 NE Cleveland St., $560 worth of cigarettes
