We were told that user fees are not a tax. Please put user fees on all alcohol. It will also help save lives.

Our county commissioners receive $600 a month allowance for their travel fees. This is extended to too many departments. Cut the freebies.
Unemployment is at an all-time high, with more layoffs coming. To cut the budget, start at the top and go down. Cut the merit raises.

Try a salary cut of 5 percent from the top - governor, legislators, mayors, department heads, and superintendent of schools.

Our school board members visit all over the United States to see if they can better our schools. They didn't learn anything. As a taxpayer I learned plenty. Michigan State took a 5 percent cut.

All of the above should tighten their belts. We already have.
