FORT LAUDERDALE - The South Florida man convicted of dragging a woman for two miles to her death under his van has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
A Broward circuit judge sentenced 25-year-old Abdelaziz Hamze on Friday. He had been found guilty for the death of 44-year-old Sandra Hall. He also was convicted of leaving the scene of a deadly
crash and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage.
After the June 2007 crash, prosecutors say Hamze went back to his home, cleaned the blood off the van, switched license plates and then flew to New York. He was arrested aboard a plane bound for
Greece. He had a one-way ticket.
Hamze's parents said their son feared for his life after he hit Hall's car and she and two others surrounded him angrily.
