TAMPA - Streaking vessels raced down the Garrison Channel on Saturday for the sixth annual Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Races.
Women in pink and purple boas, men in tight, flaming orange spandex shirts, and teams sporting island-style straw hats brought brawn in the name of fun and community support.
The event featured 70 teams, including local corporate and community groups, as well as competitors from across the United States and Canada.
Race proceeds benefit The Florida Aquarium and the FACTors Breast Cancer Patient Support Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. The Tampa Tribune was a sponsor of the event.
