POINCIANA - Wildlife officials are looking for a pregnant cougar that escaped into the woods in central Florida while being transferred to a cage.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the cougar escaped Saturday while being prepared for a trip to the veterinarian for a cesarean section.
Jungle Adventures in Christmas has a permit to own the cougar.
Officials say the cougar was born in captivity and is named Sierra. The cat's front paws are declawed and it's wearing a collar.
Sierra isn't known to be vicious, but anyone seeing the cougar is urged to call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-3922.
