CRESCENT BEACH - Wildlife officials are treating a pygmy sperm whale that had beached itself in northeastern Florida.
The 13-foot-long whale was found near Crescent Beach on Saturday. Rescue workers poured water over it to keep it hydrated while it was loaded into a sling and then into a truck.
The whale was taken to Marineland for treatment. Officials say they will release the whale back into the ocean if it recovers.
Experts say the whales usually don't come near shore unless they're ill.
