SPRING HILL - Deputies say a man brought two bags of crystal methamphetamine into the jail following his arrest Tuesday.
A traffic stop was performed at Spring Hill Drive and Barclay Avenue after a deputy said he noticed the red pickup truck had a broken brake light.
The driver, Richard Nichols, was eventually arrested after it was discovered that his license was suspended and he had four prior convictions for driving on a suspended license, according to a report.
Nichols, 29, was taken to the county jail on the criminal citation charge. As the deputy filled out the paperwork, a booking officer told him two bags of meth were found in Nichols' socks, a report states.
Nichols identified it as his "ice cream." A field test indicated it was meth. Nichols was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and introduction of contraband into the jail.
