A 76-year-old Palm Harbor man has been injured after a boat accident off the Dunedin Causeway this afternoon.
The boat capsized near Hurricane Pass, about 100 yards south of the causeway, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Ryan Smith of Dunedin was passing by on a personal watercraft at about 1:30 p.m. when he saw Jerome Cohen clinging to the side of a 10-foot aluminum jon boat. Smith sped to shore and dropped off his passenger, then picked up Christopher Russo of Palm Harbor and the two of them rode out to help Cohen.
The pair told rescuers Cohen was blue. They held on to him and brought him back to shore with the personal watercraft.
Cohen was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center for what were described as life-threatening injuries.
